Films @ The Forest Fundraiser - Call for Submissions!

Dear Film-maker,

Are you currently studying film and the art of film making?
Would you like to have the opportunity to show your work...... and help an independent art space in Edinburgh?
Doesn’t matter if you’re still a student or an amateur, we give you a possibility to show your art to a wide audience, in a friendly, open venue: The Forest Café!

As a part of our fund-raising campaign, we are organising a day of showing films (any genre) made by local film-makers as an act of resistance in order to save free art through free art.

This event will take place on February the 25th. Please send us your works and a little blurb about you before February the 22nd, to the filmsattheforest@gmail.com address.
Please send only .mov/quicktime format.

Hope to see you and your films at the Forest Café!

If you want to know more about the Forest...
The Forest is… a registered charity, an arts and community project space,
an art gallery, a café, a performance space, recording studio, rehearsal
room, darkroom, screen printing studio and publishing venue. Powered by
the enthusiasm and dedication of hard-working, generous and committed
volunteers, it’s been a vivid, vibrant part of Edinburgh’s creative
scene for over a decade. It continually offers grass roots support for
the arts and creative projects, as well as a place for people to meet,
talk, listen, watch, share ideas, make stuff, argue. And eat great
burritos.
You might know that EUS (Edinburgh University Settlement), the previous
landlord of the current Forest venue was recently declared bankrupt.
This led to the immediate and devastating closure of the Roxy Art House.
The Forest doesn’t want to go the same way. An awesome fund-raising
campaign has begun to buy the current building for the Forest, and to
continue to run it as an autonomous art space. Supporters of the Forest across
the city, the UK and internationally, are mobilising to organise events and ensure
that the Forest continues.
